Communications Internship Application

  • The National Diversity Council (NDC) is a forward-thinking, fast paced non-profit organization looking to hire communications interns to help promote our branding, events and initiatives. The individuals hired for this position will need strong critical thinking skills in order to integrate into our vibrant and passionate team while gaining valuable marketing and communication experience.

    This is an unpaid position but eligible for college credit depending on your program and major.

    Responsibilities
    • Create compelling content for social media
    • Build relationships with our online community by maintaining Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube
    • Track social media analytics
    • Assist in the creation of media lists to expand our marketing outreach across the nation
    • Partner with fellow interns to create and present public relations/social media campaign
    • Live tweet for one event
    • Help with additional projects as needed (Public Relation, Internal and External Communications)
    Qualifications
    • Be a student attending a college or university in a communications/marketing related major
    • Be able to commit to 15 - 20 hours of work per week during the internship program
    • Strong background in promotional use with social media networking sites (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, & YouTube)
    • Must have a laptop computer & wifi
    • Strong communications skills
    • Strong writing skills
    • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
    • Creative and flexible
    • Experience with Agora or a social media scheduling tool is a plus
    Internship Terms
    • Spring: January - April
    • Summer: May - August
    • Fall: September - December
