Personal Blog- Daisy Villalta

Daisy VillaltaHi everyone!

My name is Daisy Villalta. I am one of the Fall 2019 interns, and I am so excited for what’s in store during this internship. I am currently finishing my last semester of my Marketing degree at the University of Houston. Go Coogs! In my free time, I like to read, run and dabble in new things. When I am not in class or at work, I am probably at an American Marketing Association (AMA) meeting or volunteering at my church.

As a Hispanic woman, National Diversity Council’s values of diversity and inclusion resonates with me. I am a person who comes from my own unique background and who wants to invite and welcome all people regardless of who they are and where they come from. I am proud to be born and raised in Houston, the number one diverse city in the nation. Deciding to intern with NDC was an easy decision for me and what I hope to experience and gain from my internship is exposure to all parts of a non-profit organization. I also hope to sharpen my skills of creating social media content, data analytics and graphic design.

A long-term goal of mine is to start my own ministry and create a safe place for people of all backgrounds to experience counseling and healing on a mental, emotional, spiritual and physical level. I believe that my internship with NDC is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of a non-profit. I can’t wait to learn new things and put into practice the skills I already know into this great non-profit.
