At the National Diversity Council Internship I learned things that I did not expect, such as, writing post articles. I thoroughly enjoyed the internship, because it was well organized, and always kept us busy. In addition, I like how there were competitive contests, and loads of enjoyable moments. This internship really opened my eyes by waking up a desire to work in the communications field after college. All the staff at the National Diversity Council were so welcoming and approachable and I always looked forward to attending this internship.

Because nonprofits have limited resources, there are lots of opportunities to learn due to various tasks and projects. Good stepping stone for students that have limited work experience! Working on various projects simultaneously helped me to refine my project management and cross-functional teamwork skills. Communications team is extremely close knit, which made me look forward to the day and made me feel like an equal part of the team.

I learned so much from my internship at the National Diversity Council. Upon enter the Communication Internship Program, I had no idea how to use social media for business or write a press release. I was privy to daily functions and demands of not only public relations specialist but also a magazine editor. Both Jasmines, Marisa and Michael made this internship a memorable learning experience that I enjoyed and will never forget!
