Recently, an article in The New York Times called ‘America Is Under Attack’: Inside the Anti-D.E.I. Crusade by Nicholas Confessore was published highlighting conservative activists who aim to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
In response to the article, our CEO, Anika Rahman, wrote a letter to the editor about the importance of DEI and why it is a bedrock principle that encompasses our nation’s values of equity and belonging for all. In a time when issues such as xenophobia, Islamophobia and anti-semitism are heightened as well as the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Affirmative Action; the work of the National Diversity Council is even more critical.
