REPORTS TO: CFO

 

SUMMARY:  The People and Culture Coordinator is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
  • In coordination with PEO resource and continued professional development, maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation, and ensures organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
  • Communicates changes in the organization’s personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
  • Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Consults with PEO resource and legal counsel in coordination with CFO as appropriate on personnel matters.
  • Coordinates with PEO resource and with department managers to assist department managers in fulfilling their responsibilities on personnel matters.
  • Recommends, evaluates, and participates in staff development for the organization.
  • Maintains human resource information in the PEO resource’s system.
  • Assists with, and provides back-up, as needed for bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Participates on committees and special projects including coordinating annual planning for in person team meetings.
  • Make recommendations to executive team and consult as needed with the employee engagement team on how to drive a positive workplace culture that aligns with organization’s mission and values.
  • In coordination with Strategy and Research team, drive best practices for Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging at NDC.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by

 

SPECIFIC ACITIVITES AND DUTIES:

  • Coordinate new hire background check, onboarding, set up in PEO, completion of I-9 and NDA
  • Create, maintain, and implement a comprehensive offboarding procedure that ensures terminated employees are removed from PEO system, update state agency records, and other NDC systems, as necessary.
  • Maintain electronic copies of employee files.
  • Order approved employee credit cards and obtain and file signed corporate card agreements.
  • Facilitate employee handbook updates and employee compliance in coordination with PEO.
  • Coordinate employee harassment training through PEO
  • Coordinate annual performance and salary reviews.
  • Coordinate with PEO annual benefit renewal
  • Complete employment verifications for all new hires
  • Birthday cookie order and team email

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None

WORK ENVIORMENT
Fully remote. Uses standard office equipment such as computer, printer and smart phone.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree and two to five years’ related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATIONQULAIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certifications

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily.
  • Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment.
  • Able to lift and move up to twenty-five pounds occasionally.
